This morning, as I was heading up the stairs, I met Cecily coming down. She was walking carefully with one hand out, palm up, and fingers closed over palm. Curious, I asked what she had. Very seriously, she opened her fingers just a bit and said with a tone of wonder, “air”. We both continued on our way but I was looked back down the stairs, she was still walking in the same way while saying to herself, “I’m holding air”.

“We are perishing for want of wonder, not for want of wonders.”
― G.K. Chesterton
